Would like to see Del take his shots earlier. He has this annoying habit of keeping the ball until he is 2 yards out at an awkward angle then hitting it straight at the keeper!

That said, his movement and pressure on their defence was excellent!

Coleman made a mistake, but it happens and you can see they are obviously still suffering a bit of a hangover from Martinez.

Other than that, most were poor. Gibbo offered nothing, Mori was rash and Baines caught out as well a few times.

Davies played well and Stones did fine too. Besic was decent. Kev, Barks and Lennon didn't play well but at least they've got minutes. Del was class but wasted three really good chances.

This is the biggest thing I saw or didn't see as the case may be. Gibson offered nothing from the point I tuned in (25 minutes in) - perhaps he is in the shop window. I would expect him to be shipped out for a couple million - Sunderland Maybe....

Davies, imo didn't play 'well' but don't think anyone stood out. He's young and more games = better player.
Barks, still made the turn and pass that got the free kick for Del to score.
Del, was good in creating space/chances but if you waste them ?

It's a pre-season friendly and by the look of RK's face, he wasn't happy.

My only worry was the body language of the players.Apart from Ged (MOM) maybe Miralles,we looked so unhappy.

Fair assessment and my thoughts pretty much. Barkley needs to run around and get stuck in a lot more. He's a bloody good player, but he's not good enough to waltz round the pitch like he does. Enjoying this new pressing game we're playing. Will take a long while to undo Martinez's impact on the defence and fitness and people need to remember that.

tbh I prefer Barkley as part of a three-man midfield. I think it frees him up more and immediately he puts himself about as well.

Playing as a 10 he can sometimes get isolated.

Just seen some of your posts on his thread, fair enough you love the guy. Just think a centre half should be mark his man. With regard me blaming him when he is not on the pitch, if you can find a post from me aimlessly slagging off the lad, knock yourself out.

alright Streeks, perhaps I over-reacted.

But I just can't see why you're blaming him for the goal tbh. He allowed him room, but so did the rest of the defence and midfielders. Nobody pressed up or dived in as they were obviously not being instructed to and ultimately it back fired, but only because it was a great strike.

it's not like Stones switched off from a corner or something similar. I'd agree with you in that circumstance.
