Not too shabby a display. Weeks behind them in fitness. The 2 goals conceded was due to usual poor defence. Dominated in large. Some players looking reasonable some falling a bit short. I am not about to cut my wrists because we lost a pre-season game and I advise others to follow suit. Don't get too hot under the collar as it was only pre-season. This will not be the team that starts the season and its another game that Koeman will use to assess and and find more answers and come to conclusions that will help him improve the team/squad.

after their second goal went in we deflated massively but I was impressed for the most part.
As many have said, Del should have wrapped it up and Kev also missed a good chance.
It's clear as day that on the whole the squad were relatively unfit though, and that Koeman and his team are probably having to work extra hard to get them up to speed.
It'll come good.

There were a few positions it was blatantly obvious we need help at, but we knew that. Otherwise it wasnt quite the disaster some make it out to be. We dominated in scoring opportunities, its just we didnt finish inside the 18. They had one ridiculous shot that was the difference, and one defensive lapse. CBs played well for the most part, we really struggled to control the ball in the middle, and to me its clear Gibson and Lennon need to go. Mirralis wasnt around for most of the game, but he did actually have 3 passes that spring players straight in on goal, which was great. Barkley was non-existent, though looked a little better in the second half. They played keepaway deep in their own half skewing the posession.
It was simply a game of finishing. If they didnt have that ridiculous goal, and if Geri finished 1 of his 5 chances, everyone talks about it very differently. Its clear we are still producing a lot of chances each game, the finishing just isnt quite there yet. And its also clear we are strill struggling in defense, although I think this was probably better than last weeks games.

1) he can improve finishing, and 2) he'll probably not play there, or at least not a lot, during the season.
I mean I'd prefer to have Jagielka upfront than even seeing Kone or Niasse in play tbh.
