PPI refund

Has anyone else claimed against being mis sold ppi on a loan, mortgage or credit card etc etc. I always thought I was mis sold it 7 years ago when I took out the mortgage on my house. 4 weeks ago thought what the heck, filled out the form on the mortgage company website. Took me about 30 minutes as it was quite long winded and thought is it worth ll this aggro? Today got a letter from mortgage company saying I had been mis-sold and were writing me a cheque of £3000 and is this satisfactory.. To be fair I think I'm owed more, but I won't push my luck and say thank you very much. Any other stories like this.
 

Who did you use? Can you do it against credit cards?
 
thing is how do i know if i have been missold it? i honestly cant remember if i was offered it or not? i dont have credit cards and havent had a loan for years so how can i check stuff out? i obviously have a mortgage how do you know if ppi was on it or not?

It should say on your mortgage agreement, not sure if it's the same as loans.
 

That was my issue Pblueman! I genuinely cant even remember what my last post was on here for example. I've got a crazy amount of debts for various reasons, so I literally only last week tried my luck with one of these for an old credit card

I had a loan once too, which has now been paid off, I only know the Bank who I took it out with, can't find any reference to it anywhere, so not sure what I can do about that one?

Guys I ask all of you please check this out. I am doing it with my credit card next, I KNOW I had protection on that as I had to ring up and cancel it as I never asked for it, I complained at the time but got fobbed off, not this time. Please check out all your lending. I was paying £50 a month for my mortgage protection. Like on the above link check out Martin Lewis.
 
When I saw the thread title, I thought someone was going to admit calling my flat everyday at 6pm for the last 2 weeks pretending to be a recorded message.

Ironically it was this that made me do it. Everyday for the past few months we get a call about claiming back ppi, got to the point where we no longer pick up the phone. However it was these calls where I thought there must be something in this, however don't go through these companies do it yourself as they claim 20% of your compensation.
 
Good luck guys hope you get some nice money back. Martin Lewis' site helped me get back £750 in overdraft charges when that first came about. It was great considering I only had a £700 overdraft. Red to Black in about 2 weeks, was well chuffed.

I have no recollection of what my loan reference number was, do you reckon I can somehow find that again? I need this to happen in my life, ha
 
I've had texts and e-mails from firms telling me they know EXACTLY how much refund I am entiltled to. I didn't take out any PPI on my loan. I also know EXACTLY how much I am entitled to...BUGGER ALL
