When her dad died on the 6Th. Feb. 1952 that weekend games were not cancelled and we played at home on the 9th.. His funeral was on the Friday 15th. and we played the next day. So precedent is for games to continue when a monarch dies. So why is it even being considered and it seems cancelling this weekend games?
Dont be silly, I dunno if you are old enough to remember when Diana died but they called the games off then, to think they were going to go ahead this weekend was just daft

Only City, United, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and the Kult won’t get breathers if next weekends games are pulled as well as they have European fixtures in midweek

Just because it was ok to do it 70 years ago means nothing now.

Lots have things have changed in 70 years.

It's correct and respectful to postpone games this weekend.

They didn't call them off. We played at Bolton (the one where the ball went in our net and the ref messed up, we drew 0-0, Bolton were relegated that season, we weren't).

This weekend is right - to respect the monarch and the immediacy of her death. To do it again, next week, is overdoing the respect (unless the funeral is on Saturday but it's predicted for Monday) - suggesting everything stops for the entire 10 days when it's enough respect to postpone something once.
