I don't think it matters where I post. I read the Everton forum and tend to post in the Ale House for reasons others have already mentioned.

That doesn't make my original point, that I don't see much conflict in political threads, invalid.

Clearly, your love of politics, education issues, your favourite Netflix series and other Ale House topics outweighs your love of Everton because you haven't posted in there in the last month.

You're basically just abusing the system to talk about current affairs, I bet you don't even know where Everton is do you?

Will the Russia thread be moved ? Due to financial circumstances I can't justify paying the twenty pounds necessary to join the Bilderberg forum. 'Tis a pity, I don't usually post in 'political' orientated threads unless there is a particular topic on which I'm particularly exercised : for example The Orgreave Inquiry. I do however like reading other contrary views. No matter, I'm sure you know what's best.

I don't post too often in the Everton forum, but I do read it far more than the Ale House.

I'm not a big fan of moving these threads because I think it'll end up bleeding out elsewhere and simply make other threads more politically charged. I suppose it may also just mean some people stop posting entirely.

I dunno, seems fairly heavy handed and honestly politics don't seem to be the conflict that infects the majority of threads in the forum.

This is by no means scientific, but I had a look at the basic income thread, which is essentially a political thread. In the first two pages there were posts by 5 members with access to the UG forum, and posts by 14 members who do not have access.

Of those 14 people, I'm fairly sure the overwhelming majority post without causing a lot of headaches for the moderators. This action punishes all of those people for the high maintenance actions of a few. The funny thing is that in my experience those high maintenance posters are people who are also forum supporters.

To be fair, you haven't posted in a single Everton thread for over a month. I would say across the gambit of members, that kind of ratio is perhaps in a minority. I get that there are people that love talking politics, I'm one of them, but the site isn't a political forum, it's an Everton forum.

To be fair to @Seanjd, he posted in the Geri thread today and the Joel one on Monday, but, in your defence those posts are easily missed because they're swamped by Sean's posts in the political threads.

I'm using Sean as an example here, and, honestly, it's nothing personal, but your Custom Title still reads "Banned at own request". Now, I can't remember why you asked to be banned, and I'm genuinely glad you came back because I think you're a sound bloke and a good poster, but I think it was me that banned you ( at your own request ) and, I suspect part of the reason you asked to be banned was related in some way to the political threads ( feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I often am ).

But if you asked to be banned , and part of the reason for that was related to something which was said in a political thread or they were taking up too much of your time, then it demonstrates that some good Blues are sometimes lost to this site because of said threads.

At this point I could mention EFCNik, but I'm going to swerve that.

Would be nice.

Beat me to it, if you are going to impose your rules then make sure they're the same for everyone, not just those who don't pay.
