Police admit human error in Tia Sharp case.

To be fair it's only what a couple of people , myself included were saying yesterday . I'm sorry this isn't disrespectful to the girl or about deaths in custody but simply they dropped a bollock here and it seemed obvious they had

Doesn't surprise me with the amount of half wits on the force, i know a bloke who has served under the met police and another force i forget the name of, he left the met because it made him think twice of his policing career, a career which he's wanted to do for aslong as he can remember which tells it's own tale really.

He also told me to never say anything ever to the police, he said Merseyside police is so corrupt it's unbelievable, as any scouser who has had to hang the streets can probably confirm, i'm not one of these FTM'ers btw, i just don't have any faith in them.

Error, as in mistake- presumably none of you have ever made them at work.

It is wrong and the stakes are high but until the full circumstances are known and the full extent of the mistakes known hold judgement

If my line of work involved the wellbeing of others then i'd be doing my best to be as sharp as i possibly could mate, i'd leave no room for error. I'm not saying mistakes don't happen but i think in this case it's the amount of time they ****ed up that's the issue not the fact they made a mistake.

Absolutely mate I've made mistakes and I'm not asking for anyone to be sacked or whatever for this I'm just saying what I said yesterday it's clear somebody made a mistake that's all. In fairness though how mistakes are viewed depends on the circumstances, if the police don't notice a dodgy tax disc that's one thing a 12 year old's body is sadly another , just like in whatever job you do there are little errors, big errors and massive ones it's up to you and everyone else where they see this .

Precisely. It's not about point scoring, it's genuinely concerning when things like this come up in the media.

Nobody is saying they don't make mistakes in real life.

It wouldnt be so bad if they where not so good at catching motorists for the most trivial of issues.
Esy target policing, thats all they seem interested in.

Disagree with saying someone shouldn't lose their job over this. It wasn't a 17 bedroom country retreat and it wasn't a set of f*cking car keys that they were looking for.

Someone's negligence led to a child's body lying undiscovered and the prime suspect almost escaped as a consequence.

Precisely.

I wouldn't expect anything to come of it though mate, the police will close ranks just as they did over Ian Tomlinson among other mistakes.

The police is in major need of reform in some areas, it's clear to see. They're lucky that this isn't America, because somebody would be on the end of a massive lawsuit if it was.
