Sherif impressing the watching scouts no doubtMartin Sherif has bagged for Vale away to Stockport.
And a cracking place to live (Cannes not Accrington).Roman Dixon was back in the Stockport squad and came off the bench on 82 minutes with his side leading 2-1 at Barnsley. They ended up winning 3-1. Stockport finished 3rd and so Dixon's loan will continue as Stockport enter the play offs.
Martin Sherif ended his loan at Port Vale with another 90 minutes but no goal nor any points. Vale lost 2-0 at home to Champions, Lincoln and finished the season 3rd from bottom. Relegation, but a slight improvement on their earlier position.
Will Tamen completed the full 90 for the 6th match in a row and Tranmere celebrated avoiding dropping out of the league in a 1-1 home draw at home to Grimsby. It turned out that they would have survived even if they had lost. They finally finished 21st.
Isaac Heath's Accrington finished in 16th place but he has been absent since March. Presumably returned to Finch Farm.
Jack Patterson was on the bench again for LKS Lodz but didn't get on even though they were 4 up. Lodz still have 4 fixtures remaining.
AS Cannes update. Their main title rivals Nîmes lost today. Lusitanos did win so it's tight at the top. Cannes are top on goal difference over Lusitanos with Nîmes just one point behind. Two games to play with the final game at home against Lusitanos. Only one team is promoted so the stakes are high. Great experience for George Morgan.
Roman Dixon was on the bench but didn't get on as Stockport grabbed a late winner after some comedy defending from hosts Stevenage. Stockport take a 1-0 lead back to Edgeley Park for the 2nd leg of the play off.
A win too for George Morgan's AS Cannes. They travelled up to Rousset SVO in the shadows of the Sainte Victoire mountain (made famous by Cézanne). Morgan came on after 65 minutes with Cannes already leading 3-0. It finished 3-1. Rivals Lusitanos drew 1-1 and Nîmes won 3-0. So Cannes go into next week's final match at home to Lusitanos in top position. Cannes 57 pts, Nîmes 56 pts and Lusitanos 55 pts.
