The rest of the top 3 depends on what you value. DCL's had a good season overall, but that's because he had a brilliant first third of the season. He's had a stinker of a second half. James has been hugely impactful when on the pitch, but missed half the season.
If you have to actually, you know, play most of the games and deliver more often than not, then you're looking at guys like Doucoure and Keane that have contributed throughout.
The one thing I'm sure of is that it's not Davies, who is a mortal lock for most improved player but didn't play enough early on to stay in the Doucoure/Keane discussion, and if we're talking about results/presence he's not in the discussion with DCL and James.
Still got a hero to step up this season.
Fair point - it's not a clear call because no one has exactly run away with it.
I mean, yes, there is that. I think we'd get some bad press for handing out a 'most snide player' trophy on the basis of that, though.
