TOTTENHAM boss Harry Redknapp is targeting Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar - with Chelsea waiting in the wings.
Redknapp is keen to land the powerful Goodison star, who will go into the last year of his contract this summer when he heads off to South Africa to play for the hosts in the World Cup finals.
Spurs have been watching Pienaar for the past few months but Everton will want around £10million.
Redknapp thinks he could solve their left-wing problem and is poised to open talks at the end of the season.
Chelsea have also been keeping tabs on Pienaar, who could be tempted to leave Merseyside despite playing a major part in Everton's revival in the second half of the season.
At 28, he knows it could be his last big pay-day. Everton have tried to pin down the midfielder but he wants more time to consider a long-term contract.
Pienaar, who initially joined Everton on loan in 2007 after spells with Ajax and Borussia Dortmund, will decide on his future in the summer but would love a crack at the Champions League.
buggar off arl wobbly head, and i doubt Pienaar will want to warm the bench darn sarf

i don't think he is going, Pienaar likes his matches to played, not be seen from bench view.

can't stand that twitchy headed bog eyed knob , he reminds me of me younger brother every time we used to play monopoly . every time he landed on something he'd go "i'm buyin it i'm ! buyin it ! " i think every time he sees a decent player he goes "i'm buyin him i'm buyin him". like i use to say to me brother "you have to go round the board once you silly little twunt ".you have to win the league once redknapp you silly prick before you can even think of getting him.

He won't be leaving.

Trust me.

I truly hope you are right. But... with a big World Cup and he being at his prime, his agent will be pushing for a big payday. If Everton gets some big offers, can we afford to keep him?

I think it was Tx Bill who said £24M for Lescott, £5M for Heitinga. Best swap ever? We all loved Lescott but there's a price...
