In all honesty. 5 mill for Pienaar or between 1 and 4 mill for Gibson. I'd still go for Pienaar.

Rewind 12 months and I'm sure we thought he was worth Â£10 million.

To be fair I think Â£5 million is probably spot on. He's got a much longer contract to buy out now, but he's not in form and a year older.

However out of principal alone us paying anything more than we got for him is out of the question.

I don't think Â£5m is full whack. I think it's probably about right when you consider he's had a bad year, but also that he's on a proper contract now, not 6 months away from being a freebie.

Not speculating on foxy being right or wrong at all here, but I doubt this deal will, or was ever a goer from evertons perspective? Sounds like tattle to drum up interest in him so melt face can buy Adebayor/Samba/Ba
