Problem is, its OUR play that he breaks up.

The ONLY thing that Neville does well is take up a space on the pitch. He has a unique ability to brilliantly position himself so that he does NOT have to make a tackle or receive a pass (i.e. HIDE). He defines the word CRAB

Poor passing, poor tackling (bar Ronaldo), no pace, poor in every attribute a modern EPL footballer needs. He is the scourge of our club and I am 100% confident that he is the worst captain ever of our great football club. Even that day Mitch Ward was captain he contributed more.

"Moyes would make a great manager of Man Utd" "I didnt know if i wanted to score the penalty" (Man U semi final).

The way he strikes a long pass in a similar style to Beckham infuriates me - they either end up in the stand or nowhere near their target - but hey, he looks good striking the ball.

He is, at best, the 3rd best RB at our club, and the 28th best defensive midfielder.

Oh and he has the WORST LONG THROW in the history of the game of football! Is he for f8cking real with them throws - 0% success rate! And he stays behind after training to practice them.

Snitch, public schoolboy, Tory, Manc, MUFC 1st, EFC 2nd and has the personality of a peado Librarian!

He is the most uninspirational character in the game, a complete bore. A captain should inspire by character or example, as he is the most talentless and most unspirational person at our club he should be nowhere near the captains armband. #hemakesmesick I actually like Gerrard better than Neville.

Oh and his dad is called Neville Neville!

Can safely say your not his biggest fan then b) , end of the day though hes to old now , time to move on from his name being the first on the Team sheet because darren gibson is out . Old habbits die hard for moyes like

This is the best bit. Its ridiculous how pretty much every time we get a throw in in the oppositions final 3rd and its a Neville long throw to Fellaini marked by 2 players which comes to nothing.

i was gonna post something like this only better, but couldnt be arsed so i just called him a snitching shoe shine boy.

Could I remind our readers that Everton are presently 4th in the league having played a number of teams absolutely off the park and only having played 4 of those games at home.

That's all - carry on.

He's been getting worse as the season has gone on in my opinion, and could probably do with a break. He's not as bad as people are making out though, he is still part of a midfield that has dominated against every team we've played this season. He has weaknesses but we definitely missed him (and Osman) when we played Leeds, just adding a bit of balance to the debate.

we couldnt possibly be in this position if we were effectively playing with the worst player god had ever made in front of our back four. It is just inconceivable that that would be true

but hey, just my view.

Couldn't we? Oh.

He's gotta be the worst player in the entire division when he's in the midfield, and one of the reasons we haven't conceded more goals than we have is because he's not been part of the back four. The next time he plays RB, just watch how he defends on the corner of the 18yd box and invariably backs off, allowin' the opposition winger/attacker all day to make up his mind.

We are effectively a 10man side whenever & wherever he plays. He is never better than the next-worse player, no matter how poor a game they might have. Our healthy league position is despite him - not because of him. As for those who say he'll make a great coach......Well the 'experts' said that about keane & ince, didn't they?

Yeah sure, some people are going a bit too far.

But just because we're in 4th doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.

Like i said before, is there a 35 year old who's legs have clearly gone who isn't any better than ok with the ball playing in centre mid for any other team aiming for a Champions League spot?

I really doubt it.

On a good day he is unnoticable because the rest of the team are so good we can cope without asking too much from him. On a bad day he's bloody awful, unable to track runners he should do or even keep posession. Doesn't mean we've always been punished but his shortcomings are surely there for all to see.

You play with the best 11 players you possibly can, not 10 best and 1 other.

Ok, but there is some nonsense being spouted. No, actually it is far worse than that.

I don't disagree that he isn't our first choice DM. Gibson is.

He is clearly not the worst player in the league, he is not even the worst player in our first team squad. Only in my view clearly, as some above would have him hung as a paedo librarian, scourge of our club, worse captain, blah, blah...

I am not sure who else you would play as DM with Gibson injured.

As I say I disagree with much of the comment in this thread.

Yeah some people don't help when you try and put across a reasonable argument :(

And he may well or may not be the best replacement at the club for Gibson at the moment but thats not so much the point as he shouldn't be starting every single game for us in 2012/13. But he has so far.

While we're all over teams because of the quality of the other players on the pitch it covers his shortcomings (like Saturday). But whenever he's asked to do more than sit there whilst everyone else does their thing he's just not good enough.

Hmm, ok but no one is savaging Coleman (rightly not btw) for his bad decision in losing the ball and bad position for the equaliser on Sat.

I am not sure about your point of the rest of the team being so good he doesn't have to do much. I might turn that around and say him sitting gives others licence to play.

Has he started every game ? Maybe he has and is part of the squad that has taken us to our best start for some time.

He is getting on, he is running out of time, but right now, from the players we have available he is my choice at DM.

Have you considered swapping your eyes for a betamax player? You'd get more use out of it.
