Pep for England manager

No transfers in international football. Pep at England would have no Rodri - and he got rid of Kalvin Philipps at City...

Really good managers don't bother with international football.

Sadly, that is where the game has gone.

I might get abuse for this but Klopp (begrudgingly a good manager) is at the stage where he might take the Germany job, but apart from that there isn't anyone decent.

Let's face it, Martinez has had the best Belgian squad in history and then got another chance with Portugal, Koeman in charge of the Dutch and Southgate had overseen the best group of England players in decades. None of those are good managers.

Koeman is a proper legendary figure at least so I can kind of see that one. But yeah you are spot on, nobody with any real ability takes on International jobs in their prime these days. It's either a job before retirement or one to try and get your name back out there if you have messed up in your club career.

NT experience has long been a dream for Pep. Spain is improbable due to his Catalan allegiance, RFEF would never go there. Brasil has been rumored but never has progressed and that Brasil isn’t likely to go with a foreign coach

England could be cherry on cake as I see only one other coaching future for him (coaching/heading youth teams in La Masia). However FA is risk averse as well as conservative, even now it appears FA would continue with Southgate - Gareth may of course resign (my guess) but would still require FA really going beyond their norm to pursue Pep

I just don’t see it but I would guess Pep would consider it

Has Pep voiced a desire to move into international management?
He strikes me as the sort who needs constant involvement with players, not sitting up in the stand on a cold Wednesday evening.

Klopp would actually do really well with England, could still live in Germany etc. Howe and Poch have never actually won anything notable so I don’t see the point unless it’s a successful manager.

He has talked many times about a NT experience but recently questioned whether that was still possible
