Baines, our only left back and loved by the fan base.
Jags, past two seasons has come in to the back when we desperately needed him and sorted out a incredibly bad defence still our best defender overall.
Rooney, our top goal scorer and one if the only two creative players in the squad.
Let's be honest in the summer we need a clear out but I'll be amazed if we bring in more then 4 maybe 5 at a push. In short we can't afford to get rid of any of them three. Their still playing because there the best we've got in those positions. Whether that's because of poor recruitment or just the manager prerogative it it is not because they are going round bullying people and forcing themselves into the team.

Regardless of if they are indeed the cause of friction, they all need replacing. A change in the mentality of some of our long standing players wouldn't do us any harm either.
Baines/Jagielka seem resigned to the ''best of the rest' moniker, Rooney looks like his heart is in it but his body can't produce and Williams should not play for us again after his cowardly sending off. Schneiderlin looks half hearted every time he's plays.
Mentality is as much a factor as talent and ours needs an upheaval.
