Our corners

I thought the corners were a real insight into the tactical creativity/flexibility of Moyes and his coaching staff.

Same thing over and over. 10/11 corners not once did they try something different - short one, flick at near post. Try and catch Utd with something they weren't expecting.

The wrestling was absolutely embarrassing.

I know the players get paid crazy amounts but it must be horrible playing for Moyes/Dyche.
It's far more horrible watching as a supporter

It's not just us though. If anything, we are late to this party. But the officials really need to get a grip of this, as its not football. You see less grappling in a rugby match.

Was a pretty grim watch, but in the defence of Moyes and Set Piece coaches, their GK did seem particularly weak at commanding his 6 yard area. So it's easily possible that they picked up on that and thought it could be exploited.

Can't say I feel we have done that tactic to that extreme extent in other games

He seemed fine coping with it all game to me, but I suppose we only tested him on 10 corners without any sign of weakness.
Dunno why the sarcasm...can't say I saw the goalie get to most of them to be honest, most of time overhit, defensive header, or just pure deflections due to congestion.

No I watch my team & from start to finish it was pure rubbish even if it had been 0-0 DM has an OK squad but square pegs in round holes our play was akin to a rugby match !

Watch how we kick off - last night particularly in the 2nd half ?
I think we all admit last night was not exactly champagne football!

I think the worst thing about those corners last night was that despite all the grappling and wrestling, the pushing and shoving, and the constant delays while the ref told people off, their keeper just reached up above it all and caught the ball without any problems on far too many occasions. Pointless routine and turned set pieces into a circus.

Seemed weak how? He’s 6 foot 4 and got his hands on plenty. I can see how doing that against a 5 foot 10 keeper…or a youngster who isn’t used to physicality. I don’t think Lammens ever looked uncomfortable on those corners.

The lack of variety was appalling.

Have to wonder if it's just the percentages we play for off them. I.e. by positioning players in certain positions and playing the ball into a certain area there's a great chance of scoring.

If so we'll have dragged the success rate right down.
