MACCA75

Player Valuation: £70m
Just done some totting up of our away record at Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford and Arsenal. (Did it quickly in case of any slight innacuracy)

Our last games at;

Liverpool. P 23. W 0
Chelsea. P 30. W 0
Arsenal P 25. W 0
Man Utd P 27 W 1.

The one win in over 100 games is heavily caveated being Moyes’ season at Old Trafford, a season when the likes of Fulham, Newcastle and Sunderland all won there.

We all know Moyes’ ‘knife to a gunfight’ mentality - But 7 other managers have tried and failed to win at these places since.

There needs to be a root and branch change in the culture at the football club. The gravy train for players who have failed at big clubs needs to stop.

I always knew it was that horrifically awful, but seeing it numbers (clear as day) highlights how inept we've become at challenging the best clubs.

This isn't meant to be a criticism, however our support yesterday (me too!) was nowhere near what it should have been because the trepidation was palpable.

We go there thinking we can't win and then struggle to get behind them, so you like you say it needs a root and branch change.

I’d like to see how our record stacks up to league one clubs I’d say a few have usbeat.

Spurs and City are now over 10 times, what about the rest of the league? Bet it’s similer

this season played 8 W2 L7
Last season P19 W5 L9
Season before P19 W3 L10

so since Aug 2017
we played 46 W 10 L26

Yes we spent 500 mil in that time and want to be a top 6 club

yes, its a shocking stat, but I remember back when it was a top 4 rather than a big 6, those 4 teams only lost something like 2 games between them at home to teams outside the top 4 over a period of about 5 years. so out of about 300 or so games, they lost 2.
So it's not just us, pretty much no one else has been able to win at those grounds until the past couple of years

Without wanting to risk being called a happy clapper for suggesting that the Kenwright/Moyes axis of evil isn't solely responsible for everything bad that's ever happened in the history of the world, you can go back A LOT further than this.

We've won a league game at Anfield 7 times since the end of WWII. 7 times in 75 years. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Until the Rooney game at Leeds (which was great!!) I'm sure we hadnt won there for about 50 years, although we hadnt played them a lot with them being up and down.
However those 3 teams we play every season, no excuse when everyone else gets the odd win there.

Crystal Palace have won at all these grounds (and City) since promotion in 2013. Some of them (including Anfield) more than once.

Don't forget, Everton have finished above Liverpool in a few of these seasons. Liverpool haven't always been good since 1999, they've had some awful teams. Chelsea weren't great until Roman and Mourinho arrived.
