It doesn't add up to me either. I don't know why we signed him in January when we needed a striker (replacement for Naismith) when all we heard was he is unfit and not ready.. Surely we should have signed someone who was ready?

I don't believe he wasn't fit, I believe he was signed based on one persons opinion without Martinez seeing him for himself, and once he arrived and we all saw for ourselves how bad he was, he seemed to hide him and make excuses as he didn't want the fans to see what a bad decision we had made (couldn't even get in the reserves at one stage)

That's exactly why happened. Whoever suggested him needs fired.

took a punt knowing his job was on the line, watched a 10 minute YouTube video like us and it didn't look to bad, and Alfredo his best mate said he had seen him in a Europa League game so Bobby trusted him and took the risk.

After all, it wasn't his money he was pissing down the drain was it and he was desperate to turn our fortunes around.

The fact that Martinez spent £13.5m on this bloke and handed him a contract with 40k-a-week is all the case you need to argue that Martinez should never manage in the Premier League ever again, especially not at a big club. He and his cast of Fraggle Rock backroom staff were hopelessly out of their depth and don't deserve another penny off this club, I will be absolutely disgusted if they win this tribunal.

Alarm bells should have been ringing to Martinez when apparently a host of other clubs dropped interest in him on further inspection.
