Defenders seem to be the new big money movers in the window with Victor Lindelof of Benfica apparently valued around the £40m mark.

That follows rumours of van Dijk costing a similar price or even more, and our own valuation of Koulibaly last summer going ridiculously high.

And of course our own sale of Stones at nigh on £50m. Mad money!

West Ham supposedly bid a measly 5m for Defoe, how could they possibly think that would be accepted, boggles the mind that a premiership club has individuals who would sit down and discuss potential transfer targets and think 'sure let's put in a miserly bid for a relegation fighting teams top scorer and best player, you never know like'... getting the taxpayer's to pay for their stadium must have them firmly in cloud cuckoo land, the clowns....

Would be utterly illogical for Defoe to be sold. Any fee is never going to make up for the inevitable relegation which would follow.

Agree, but If West ham offered 15million for a 34 year old, I'd be surprised if we didn't sell him. Or even for less of the player says he wants to leave.

Personally unless they clear the club debt they can sod off.
