Anyone been able to get to this? Its all over SSN throughout the day. Another great high profile PR gig for the club?

They did something like this last year didn't they? Obviously it's a great idea and lets the fans get a glimpse of the day to day things that go on down at Finch Farm, must be good for the players to altering their routine and stopping any boredom setting in.

Drove past a couple of times and the place is packed. Lots of exited kids, and dads, running around.

well done everton

This seems to be at GP...about 5000 there apparently....SNN showed players lapping, including Osman, and Roberto and assistants standing chatting. Apparently the players earn credit points for 'best in training' with a prize at the end of the season ! Theres a lot changed at Everton this season.....!!

Aye, we took the little 'un. Superb day. I've put it on the front page.

Pics to follow tonight.

I must be in an exclusive group of people who've seen Tony Hibbert score a few - one at his testimonial, and about 5 more today. Not in a competitive match yet, sadly, but at the open training session that Everton held at Goodison Park today. It's true what they say, he really does knock them in for fun in training.

Such is the good feeling about the club again this season, and in general since Roberto Martinez took over, that this sort of thing is becoming more and more the 'norm'. Just like the 'Tea Party' earlier in the season, this was a great opportunity for the fans to get a little closer to the team. A family friendly experience, with youth skills sessions and face painting etc. there was something for all. And to the clubs credit, free of charge.

With the Park End and away end of the Bullens Road open, the team ran out to the usual Z-Cars, and immediately embarked on a lap of the pitch with players and fans applauding each other admirably. Tim Howard's massive grin seemed, well, massive. General training exercises followed, then the crowd were treated to an én massé throwing of shirts into the crowd (complete with the snidey dad who grabbed a shirt before the kids did - you know who you are).

Then the fun part - a practice match. With the wonderfully familiar sight of Duncan Ferguson prowling around the pitch, the 5-a-side game was awash with goals, many from Hibbert believe it or not, and a good one from Deulofeu from an impossibly acute angle amongst others.

That wound proceedings up, and it was on the whole a superb and enlightening experience. Well done Everton.
