Career wise he made the right choice all those years ago,we were practically rock bottom as a club, however the Evertonian in me says why couldn't be have stayed and been our Gerrard?Second time around after an initial flurry was always ending like this sadly.

He's going to be like the older brother, showing his younger brother and all his young mates how to play football, or is it soccer?
He's joined an awful team in a terrible league.
A very strange move that has nothing to do with football and everything to do with money; like he needs the cash!

...it didn’t work out but I don’t think it was a lot to do with him. He came into a squad and team which really struggled despite the pre-season expectation. Managerial change, lack of playing strategy. There were glimpses of real quality, there were goals, there was attitude. I understand we didn’t win a game without him.

The driving incident was a let down but Rooney was the least of our problems on the pitch. Saying that, a deep lying quarterback is not the type we need. Spraying long passes are easier to defend than having a powerful and able runner getting us up the other end of the pitch and drawing out defenders.

Rooney is one of the all-time greats of the English game, younger folk on GOT will tell their grandchildren they saw him play. It was a privilege.
I don’t think anything was going to be a success last year.

Came back for one final season with the club in chaos and finished it our top scorer and best player, only losing his impact when Allardyce was appointed.

Wayne Rooney 11 goals
230 minutes per goal
2528 minutes played

Oumar Niasse 9 goals
1114 played
124 minutes per goal

OUMAR, OUMAR, OUMAR.

I fear we haven't seen the end of this saga, as there are enough idiots around that would still have him back as a coach for some unknown reason. Some people will argue that having been a top player in the past automatically makes you a good coach, however something tells me that the real top clubs (clubs that are interested in winning things rather than being a museum) won't be in a rush to have him as a coach.

There's been no talk of him coming back as a coach at Manchester United, let's put it that way.

Koeman???

Gutted we gave him last season really. The animosity I had to him went years ago but no reason for him to come back.
