There was nothing quiet about Case
Dirty sod
I played against at youth level he was at South Liverpool we got beat 10 - 4 they were a class side but the whole set up went bust they dropped out of the league .....
I was a makeshift central defender that day kicked a few of them hope he was one of them ........
Only found out when he made it big time he was in that team ......

...surely that’s Tony Hateley.
Me too, that was my first thought a few pages back.
The record books hardly ever get it wrong
But we've seen many wrong captions on here
Body shape and faces pretty much remain the same...like 'Big John' of the song, Rowdy was 'wide at the shoulder narrow at the hip and everybody knew you didn't give no lip - big john'.
Thank you very much for Hateley's Elbow, thank you very much.

Also by then...or even before for that matter, it was very rare for him to venture up field.

While I'm on a roll, he also played centre forward (well Number 9 anyway) for Scotland Vs Italy in, iirc, a 1-0 loss, he was part of one of those new fangled back 4 things that were all the rage then.

Oh and I saw him play for Tranmere at the late Holly Park in an FA Cup game - had the worlds worst 'hip' mustache.
He took dogs abuse from the many blues on that big cinder embankment they had at the far end
