Old Everton Pictures

Liverpool v Everton 31st December 1966 - 0-0 went to this game at the pit with my late father only 11 years old - bally hit the post we drew 0-0 in a typical Derby game in that era - it may do us that score next Monday -

I did too, stood in the middle of the kop with a blue and white scarf on.
As me and a lad called Tommy Owens, were walking up the terraces to the exit, a bit of a space opened up around us and one 'wag' said...go ed, wave your scarf now (it had been a full blooded game and - as usual - they didn't like it up em) I gave him a smile as if to acknowledge his wit (well half of it) and said, nah, you're alright (I won't take you up on your kind offer)and walked on past him up the steps.

Strange bunch them lot.

The great HK aged 20, has just signed for making him the highest priced wing-half in England. He has just finished his contract for PNE & the Catt who had been stood on the PNE terraces in an old mackintosh - glasses & a flat cap - swipoed him at the last minute from the other lot - who were promised he would sign for them :D -
