I was thinking about this lad the other day.I played a lot of football then so only went to the match night matches and when my season was over.Was in the Stanley Park end at the Everton vWest Ham with the great Bobby More and he was terring them new one ,i thought then he is are George Best what happend to him.
A good wate of young talent- he had a big bust up with Manager Billy Bingham & regretted asking for a transfer.... Birmingham City signed himnever settled there ....the last I read he came back to Liverpool to run a pub ...

Gary born in Whiston played for the Whiston Schoolboy side which Stephen Gerrard also came through run by my 2nd Uncle & My cousin they produced a few stars Mark Ward etc my 2nd Uncle died about 2 years ago the Echo did big feature on him on the stars his team in Whiston fetched through etc - it was his whole life - My Cousin went onto be a Sports office in LG & still helped him part time, he features in Mark Wards autobiography in a photo , his step Uncle played a few games for the other lot over the park Dougie Livermore who now is down south as players agents -
