Everton right-back focus: Alex Parker. A transformative EFC signing in 1958, Parker was a top-class full-back. Slide tackle supremo. League title winner 1962/63, club captain in 1964, but then impacted by injuries & joined Southport FC . A publican in Runcorn in the 1970s - then returned to Scotland -
He joined Everton in 1958, although his Toffees debut was delayed because he had to do his National Service in Cyprus!
He quickly made up for lost time though and was a pivotal member of the magnificent Everton team that stormed to the League Championship in 1963. Parker played in 33 of the 42 games as The Blues clinched the title by six points from runners-up Tottenham Hotspur.
