Remember going to a reserve game and he running up to the main stand panicking and looking for his wife.
Everyone asking what's wrong, and him saying the ref won't let me play with this.
Luckily he did get to play later,another underrated by the media of the time,they still hate us.

A certain Everton Favourite Jimmy Gabriel was sold to Southampton when a certain HK was transferred to us - it did not go down that well with the fans at the time -

love these old 1960s programmes. Actually own 100s of them. And not just Everton. Tbh......I own well over a thousand old programmes. Sort of a hobby. Collecting football memorabilia.
Anyhow.....notice Johnny Crossan in the City line up. He hailed from my neck of the woods. Rated one of the best players to come out of Derry/Londonderry. A very good player.
And that Everton line up is just about my first memories of an Everton team. Later to be a great team........when the holy trinity hit town.
