We travelled home and away to see sublime football by the greatest ever 3 partnership in football,i was blessed to actually see the Holy Trinity .Gifted to see the Reid Bracewell Steven and Sheedy of the eighties... but the Holy Trinity takes the mantel of the best all day long ...

you,ll defo have to go to Spec Savers Joey thats 1966......... is that Jimmy Hill at the front ..ha ha ...driving the coach

don't get me wrong that 1980's midfield was pure class - its if you had seen the Holy tinity and alan ball you would know instantly what I mean - the opposition around in those days too was tougher imo - they were a quicker thing unit imo and you just had to see the bet ever box to box midfielder ever imo Alan Ball - Peter Reid was world class at times - Mr perpetual motion Alan Ball was more consistent, and one of the greatest footballers I have ever seen imo!

I do not doubt it sir, and would never argue with you because I never witnessed Bally play. I am insanely jealous - and Im glad you got to experience watching him. Im quite happy with my 80's memories though :)

I seen us win things since 1963, I was made up in the 80's believe me we were back hurting the dreaded over the park with a manager, and assistant who were part of that Holy Trinity was very fitting;)
Both were great teams!

Watching this player play the game was an absolute privilege. I was too young to remember Kendall, Ball and Harvey - after watching footage of Ball play he seems very similar to Reidy. Those lucky enough to witness both - who was better?

The Reid/Bracewell partnership has never been bettered at Everton, not even close.
Reid was great but Ball had everything

Ball was better going forward than Reid and scored far more.

.....Ball was truly world class, Reid was a very good footballer. Ball was MoM in a World Cup final at a tender age and consistently delivered over a full career. Reid was a different type, great timer of a tackle but not Ball's quality with a football.
