…the famous Hanson hand ball stopping the ball going in. The referee was called Robinson & by coincidence he refereed a game I played in London literally a week or so later.

i couldn’t help myself mentioning it to him & he wasn’t at all pleased. He said to me after the game “I couldn’t give what I didn’t see” but his ego was hurt & he was embarrassed.

John Richards, next to Mick, a fine centre-forward who won his solitary England cap at Goodison against Northern Ireland. I seem to remember he scored a hat-trick against us in one of those end of season games after Catterick had been 'moved upstairs'.
