Fulham v Everton let's hope we can dint those Craven Cottage Blues - a poor away ground for us - Bally made his debut there scored in a 1-0 win -
Here is George Cohen of England tackling Everton's flying winger in the early 1960s Mickey Lill -

I was in GSE right behind the goal to see Vernon score, there was nowt wrong with goal it was the referee. It came out later that he took bribes and there was the ? over our game. The Italian clubs it was rumoured were not above giving out back handers to officials.
Like I said, the brief clip was inconclusive.
As to Italian skullduggery, Brian Glanville covered it extensively for The Sunday Times, iirc.
Should all be out there somewhere on the web.

9th September 1967. Everton inside forward Alex Young the GV finding the hot weather difficult going as Fulham wing half Stan Brown is given plenty of time to pass, at Craven Cottage - we lost 2-1 - we have only won 6 times at Craven cottage since 1960 - they have only ever won twice at Goodison in that period - so with no fans lets hope we can bounce back on Sunday -
