Frank Wignall the NO 9 of the day is in that team sat 2nd from left to right the match you quote he is not playing in that team yet he played in this game?

George Thomson made his debut against Arsenal away the week after the Newcastle match.
Colin Green played in the game before the Newcastle game and that was away to Cardiff City.

My older brother just e mailed me with the two names above Thompson, and Green -
Colin Green made 7 appearances at left back in 1960 if the Newcastle home match is of that photo then just checked it was the period he played in that spell so it may be him if you can determine it was that game?
anyway it either George Thompson or Colin Green depending on which game it was?

....more likely it's Alan Clarke's leg, he was skinny and lanky.

Yes Alex Young is not there, as Wignall his replacement, it's either the golden visions cousin George Thomson or local left back Colin Green as both played that season who is stood next to Labone , and Harris on the back row!
