William "Dixie" Dean was one of the most prolific scorers ever. Dean still holds the single-season Premiere League record with 60 goals for Everton in 1927. Dean scored 18 goals in 8 games for the English national team. Dean never competed in a World Cup since England did not participate in a World Cup until 1950. This is Dean’s rarest card, John Scerri’s Cigarettes’ “International Footballers” were issued in the Republic of Malta. Despite the set’s name, it features only English footballers.
