Oh so fickle and glum after defeat

TBH, there's an argument that not only was his first substitution a negative one, but that his second one, Mirallas for Naismith, was pretty much like-for-like and not injecting any other dimension.
Thanks Davek. Wish I'd said this first time round. (y)

Agree with Manx, Neville should have been left at right back.

When a team plays with two steady DM's, that is because they are trying to negate the oppo's AM options.

Solution is to play 4-4-2. Take the DM influence largely out of the game.
You need better movement to create openings and with Jelly on his own, it clearly was not going to happen very often.

Fellaini drops back and Kev up top with a quiet Jelly. All in my most humble opinion.

Sorry harry but your living in a dreamland if think Neville is the second best solution to filling in the hole Gibbo left. We had other and better options. Just sayin like.

not sure what you are saying mate. are you saying moyes was right to put neville in midfield or wrong?

I personally don't think neville is good enough to play in that position in a premier league match. But if he is told to play there, he will. so for people in the other threads (or in this one) to blame neville is wrong. he isnt good enough but he gives it his best. its the manager who keeps picking him. its the managers fault not the player.

What about Coleman at right back? I actually prefer him down the right side of midfield like, though he can play there. I agree that Moyes like Neville to much though.

everytime i have seen him play there he has been great. although that isnt often and always against crap teams. but you need a right back that can offer support going forward which neville and hibbert cannot do.
he might not be the best defensivly but he would make up for it going forward. and he cant be that much worse then hibbert and neville

Apologies Harry, I didn't make that clear enough in my posts that Moyes made the wrong call.(y)

Sounded like moyes was saying in Hindsight We should of Parked the Bus and Nullified the game rather than as he seen it Playing a open , going for it type game

I know. I think that is what concerns a few on here. An admission that Everton are/were not good enough to win at The Hawthorns.

We the fans, some of the fans, feel is is about tactics and personel.

Of course other teams will drop points this season at West Brom. Doesn't make it right that we played the way we did.

it was only 20 mins in so i wouldn't have been all for bringing coleman on over hibbert, that wasn't the mistake imo. fellaini is dependable and you know he will do well if he was pushed back, with mirallas coming on to play the ACM role. it does astound me how moyes still views neville as a centre midfielder. by pushing fellaini back and mirallas on, it wouldn't have been more attacking or more defensive, we would have just had more quality on the pitch.

davek's 1st post was spot on, the thing that worries me about moyes press conferance is that it hinted as "not going to make that mistake again, next time we'll settle for a 0-0 away at west brom". the risk to gain 2 points as opposed to drop 1 is always worth taking. anything other than playing the top 5 away, he should be making the "attacking" substitution, it's the only way we'll improve on finishing just 7th.

Or A lesson Learned Type comment , i hope that aint the case as Can`t be doing with that percentage sneak a goal type football anymore

There is really hardly any difference between a draw and a loss so not too arsed about it. Draw every match and you finish 17th or 18th and your manager is AVB. We had 2 solid chances and blew them both. It happens to everyone. We played against a pressure team and we weren't ready or used to it. We'll go back to the training pitch and work it out b/c we have a good squad this year.

when the fixtures were announced, most of us would have settled for 4 points from those games. Mose were also concerned that we had only signed naismith (had pienaar signed by then?) . Now we are p1ssed because we blew the chance to win against west brom. We also have the strongest squad for years.

The main thing now is the reaction...but the international break is a good thing. Gibson will hopefully recover, Mirallas and Naismith continue to build fitness and more time to work on that new movement of the 3 supporting jelly. Am not worried

Away defeats happen, WBA are a decent side anyway. if it had been a poor performance at home in a game we expected to win i'd be annoyed but as it is we have 3 away points from Villa and West Brom which is a good return and better than drawing both.

Six points may be doing fine, but that's not really the point, is it ? There's been an amazing buzz around the club the last week or two, and quite a few fans have started to believe this could be the season where we have the players and the belief to challenge the top 4, never mind the top 6. And the fact is, we can't afford too many games like the one yesterday if we want to give ourselves a chance of breaking through that barrier. We need to start with the belief that we can win tough away games and take the game more to the opposition. When teams like West Brom come prepared with defensive strategies to shut us out, we need to find the flair to keep creating chances. We need to keep the ball better. We need to stay strong, fit and focused right through the 90 minutes. No, we won't win them all. But we've got a great squad, we shouldn't settle for second best.

I praised Moyes when we played well and picked up great results, so I'll criticise him and his team when they play like a pack of c*nts, simple.

It was a sh*t performance but i'll be at the Newcastle game cheering us on.
