….if yesterday is anything to go by, difficult to see us getting anything here even if Grealish returns. Forest played very well in defeat to City and our performance was poor.

I’d certainly start Dibling and if Grealish is fit then there is the option of McNeil replacing Alcaraz.
That's not much of an option though, is it!!

….no, although he did ok when he came on in that position in the home game against them and I recall him scoring a fine goal at the City Ground for us.
He really seems to have lost his mojo since the injury, which is a shame, as he used to be our most creative player.

They should beat us comfortably, however they have the pressure of a relegation battle which may make them nervous, although I doubt our ability to get on the front foot and exploit it. 3-0 Forest with Gibbs-White running the show

They're 17th, managed by Sean Dyche.

We beat them 3-0 a few weeks ago.

Yeah, we're missing 2 (assuming Dewsbury-Hall is out) who started that match but c'mon.

The white flag waving is a bit embarrassing.

They have a far stronger squad than we do and a decent home atmosphere. You’ve got to be joking? They’re 17th, coming off the back of consecutive defeats and lost 3-0 to us this month. If we’re crying it in first games like this now we might as well just knock the whole thing on the head.

Bad as Alcaraz was yesterday the thought of McNeil ever starting another Everton game makes me nauseous

With our 3 most creative players missing from the team that beat them 3-0.

So that means now we have to expect to lose 3-0? Seems a massive stretch to me to be honest.

We’re not putting out a team of kids and the type of cheap squad fillers we’ve relied on in recent years, we’re bringing in a 30 odd million pound signing, someone half the forum had been arguing should be the first name on the team sheet, and someone who’s been pretty much a shoe in for us over the last 3 years. Making out like it’s some sort of David v Goliath battle is some seriously weird mental gymnastics.

Whoever is available, he needs to be setting up to get the full backs pushing further up the field to offer support to the wingers. Yesterday was an embarrassment against a bottom 3 team. Regardless of how poor they are, we were set up so defensively that they never got forward to occupy space.

1st half O'Brien got beyond Dibling once, and once in the 2nd half. Mykolenko twice 1st half and twice 2nd half. Simply not good enough.

Will be a tough game with our depleted resources against their £400m squad. I’d take a draw right now.

You are an absolute parody. The absolute face on you to write that after you used to hammer Dyche for getting draws against far superior opposition.

If Dyche is as bad as you made him out to be then a win should be a formality for us. Or are you finally admitting that the respective player quality of squads actually does have an impact on football matches after spending years denying it?
