I'm gonna have to buy a no. 9 shirt because I totally missed the fact we had a game yesterday.
Were we any good? 2-0 against the scabs sounds OK. In fact, I am going to go about my day thinking we were brilliant.
UTFT!
Very solid, they put us under a lot of pressure but mainly loads of crosses/long balls. For once, we were clinical with our main chances.
Credit to Grealish for turning out and not
staying in his sick bed
Yes, it was the perfect exemplar of "taking a knife to a fishmonger's."It was the kind of game we used to see a lot of, with the shoe on the other foot.
Here, Forest played the role of Everton in the FSW/Lampard/Dyche years: Forest had more of the ball, and they huffed and puffed, and played some nice football with some pretty triangles out by the halfway line, and they lumped a lot of balls into the box, and if you looked casually they controlled the game. But they never really had any menace.
And we played the role of all those teams who beat us during those years: we stayed organized, snuffed out threats, didn't trouble ourselves much, and at a couple of key junctures displayed quality and class and sheer ruthlessness and cut them open like a monger gutting a fish.
Very satisfying.
I don’t think I’ve seen the word amazing specifically. But lots of other superlatives.
The official IG has just posted about a James Garner Masterclass. We had 30% possession with 77% accuracy against a Dyche team
It was a good away performance in the circumstances. It wasn’t a great performance.
we had so many players missing, 5 of them you would be hard to argue against being our best outfield players this year, four lads who have about 20 minutes between them on the pitch, playing away to a side desperate for points who by all accounts have a lot of talent and were expensively assembled
no surprise we barely had any of the ball but we showed tremendous grit and a real spirit and solidty, and took our chances which has been the one big failing this seasonn
when we played forest with grealish ndiaye and kdh all starting we played them off the park
and once our main lads are back and hopefully stay healthy we have a really good chande of cementing ourselves in the top half and challenging for europe, which was unthinkable 12 months ago after being spanked at home by forest
Yeah it was. But as you say, given the circumstances this was a goodie tooYes, I watched the game. I'm not questioning the team spirit or the result; it was a great win given the circumstances.
I thought the home performance vs Forest was infinitely better.
No not at the moment. But with everyone back (it was actually 8 players because I didn't include Coleman or Branthwaite) Plus hope to bring in some players either loan or buy and suddenly we are looking better. Obviously striker and full backs are needed. But very positive from winning with what was available last night. You had every right to be worried TBH but they pulled one out, good to see. Are we CL quality? Hell no. I'm not even comfident saying European quality right now...need to see more grit and consistency ATM.

We can agree to disagree on our opinions. He was ok
His post match interviews are very telling …. Never the tactics….all he constantly references are intangibles (mentality) and the basics, running, effort. Never any mention of anything else around tactics, etc.Forest reminded me of us under Dyche.
He should have that squad moving up the table.
Players become void of ideas under him.
He talks in buzz words and double speak,he's excellent telling the world exactly what his players should be doing but he can't actually implement it.
