That’s mad, a two league jump, you very rarely get that at any level of football for a manager. Big risk for Warrington.

Looking at the club statement, he has had some sort of conection there previously, I think he may have played and/or coached there?

TBF to the lad, of the games I've watched, he's been fair and quite straight in the interview afterwards. I've never heard BBS 'phemonenal moment' type quotes or constantly saying 'disappointing' a la Wally. I've never thought he was spouting bs and that he was watching a different game to me, but then I don't suppose the scrutiny is 1% that of a full time pro manager?

The FB comments from local fans and ex players are interesting, former pro's from Crewe Alex (and their mates ffs) dropping hints here and there for the job.

3rd Sussex ground in a week. The tidy home of Haywards heath town. They beat Crawley down 3-1 in front of a couple of hundred (pretty decent for that level). The lovely old stand was a nice bonus.

Proper non league this. The bikes, houses just behind the goal collecting stray footballs in the garden, probably a dog knocking about somewhere. Heritage.

Thornton Cleveleys v Skelmersdale United tomorrow at Gamble Road, Thornton, 3pm KO.

Looking forward to this, Thornton lost 5-2 last week at Maghull so see if they can bounce back like Alan Partridge.

Tonbridge Angels v Walton & Hersham. Both teams going well in their respective leagues, National League South Tonbridge are unbeaten this year and are favourites to overcome their Southern League Premier opponents but who knocked out National League South Farnborough in the last round.

FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying Round tomorrow and a new ground for me;

Tonbridge Angels v Walton & Hersham. Both teams going well in their respective leagues, National League South Tonbridge are unbeaten this year and are favourites to overcome their Southern League Premier opponents but who knocked out National League South Farnborough in the last round.

It's a pleasant stroll from the station if not driving. Nice town Tonbridge. Ground decent. Cover behind both goals.

He did a good few years at Warrington a couple of years ago. Nice fella by all accounts one of my good mates has played under him a few times.

Second FA Cup qualifier of the weekend.

Having come through both the preliminary rounds, one of the lowest ranked teams in the tournament, my ‘town of birth’ club, Great Yarmouth Town (newly promoted from level 10), take on Cheshunt (level 7) at home at the Wellesley.

The Wellesley is home of what is believed by ‘Historic England’ to be the oldest surviving wooden grandstand still in use in England. First opened in the same year as Goodison, 1892.

Back at the Wellesley today.

Unfortunately Great Yarmouth were knocked out by Cheshunt last round, but Gorleston (town I grew up in) and Lowestoft (where I live), both still going strong in the comp.

So today’s match is Gorleston v St. Alban’s (who are two levels above).

I’ll also be keeping an eye on Lowestoft’s match, who play away at Harringey (Tottenham).
