After our second early cup exit of the season and us now going 31 years without a trophy I’ve been wondering if there’s a conversation to be had for scrapping Nil Satis Nisi Optimum from our badge/branding?
It seems the club aren’t particularly serious about actually pushing us onto the next level so to keep harping on about ‘Nothing but the Best’ seems a bit silly really. I get it’s the club motto and it’s been there years but if we’re not living up to it then it seems a bit pointless to me. Just wondering what other people’s thoughts are?
Was first used on the shirts in 1978.They tried that once, thought the fans wouldn’t notice. Took the motto and the laurel leaves off to basically get rid of any symbol of achievement and just left the tower and the date.
There’s a reason the early custodians of the club put the motto on there. It’s supposed to be a constant reminder of what our standards are. Instead this club is desperate to try and remove them.
Its changed three times in the past decade or soI don't know if this is a serious post or not, but assuming it is serious, unless we're going back to the 80s badge, or the Dixie Dean era badge, scrapping the current badge is a definite no. It's a good badge, one of the last old school badges in the league. Barely changed in 100 years and part of who we are.

The tower icon hasn't replaced the crest, sometimes NSNO is used below or around the tower iconIts changed three times in the past decade or so

Not on the shirts, not sure on what else they would put the motto : headed notepaper, programmes, possibly lFirst used in the club in 1938.
Could I venture a suggested replacement for the motto? After our second early cup exit of the season and us now going 31 years without a trophy I’ve been wondering if there’s a conversation to be had for scrapping Nil Satis Nisi Optimum from our badge/branding?
