After our second early cup exit of the season and us now going 31 years without a trophy I’ve been wondering if there’s a conversation to be had for scrapping Nil Satis Nisi Optimum from our badge/branding?

It seems the club aren’t particularly serious about actually pushing us onto the next level so to keep harping on about ‘Nothing but the Best’ seems a bit silly really. I get it’s the club motto and it’s been there years but if we’re not living up to it then it seems a bit pointless to me. Just wondering what other people’s thoughts are?

And lets be honest. 1995 we won a cup but the rot had well and truly set in by then .
1987 last time we were the best .

Yeah it’s a bit meaningless and in no way represents the clubs ambitions or standing in the modern game.

Perhaps “Just happy to be here” would be a more fitting motto.

They did spend £110m plus Rohl plus Grealish. I suspect they thought they would be getting better than the turgid football on offer.

Based on the integration of the players bought I wouldn’t be giving the management any more money until the end of the season. Possibly money for a couple of loans though hopefully.
