Nice little read on our great start

The lad who wrote that, Luke O'Farrell is a superb Everton writer, he writes a lot of good stuff

I don't think it's a "great" start yet. We're only 2 points ahead of recently promoted West Ham United and the 'inferior' West Bromwich Albion.

It's a decent start though considering who we've played, but to lose v West Brom was disappointing and we had enough chances against Newcastle for those two stolen goals not to have mattered.

If we win tomorrow I will be delighted and consider it a good start, as that's a tricky place to go and take all three points from.

Maybe too ealy to say a "great" start, but for this stage, it's very good. It's as easy to say we're one point ahead of the Champions and the side who finished on the same points as them last season as to say we're only a couple ahead of West Ham and West Brom.

we should have won every game. West brom ffs. Newcastle just as bad

at least we showed how to bounce straight back after those dissapointments, not forgetting coming from behind to beat soton after the leeds result. this gives me more encouragement than if we were still unbeaten because we'd all expect the first loss to lead to about 4 more on the trot. love the great bouncebackability of this team

Normally I try to stop myself from getting to carried away when it comes to all things Everton, but its hard not to get excited when you read that article!

Leighton Baines now leads the way in the Premier League with the most chances (28) and the best minutes: chance ratio (19.29). Despite his defensive duties, Baines is ahead of the Premier League’s and some of the world’s finest players. The statistics also reinforce Baines’ defensive capabilities with the left back yet to lose a tackle this season.

'kin ell Baines you little ledge.

Wow, some great facts there, a really interesting piece that.

There's a few beauties in there that I'll roll out in the alehouse later to a few of my rs mates.

The great bit is, that even though they are switching their philosophy to a passing and ball retention style, by paying £20m+ for players who pass and retain the ball a lot, we are better at it with Osman and Neville.

"The visitors (Everton) have hit the woodwork more times than any other top-flight team (seven)". From the Guardian's preview of the Wigan game.
