If tottenham strengthen in the manner they have this season with

zokora
berbatov
chimbonda
malbranque

then i see them as genuine top four contenders.

i realise this post isnt everton related, but on a compare and contrast line, spurs have their new multi million sponsor 'mansion;' as well as capital 'corporate facilities' with them being based in london.

jol is putting a fine squad together, and outside of the mammoth two, i see them being able to push the red scum and arsenal.

You forget how fickle footie is Suits, only five weeks ago the press were talking about Jol's job being under threat, in five more weeks it could be back to square one(y)

They seem to be well equipped to challenge for a top four place but their consistency isn't there. Newcastle also have a good attacking side (on paper) and if they can sort out their defence they could be a threat next season. But then I think we will too if we can add a few more players to Howard and (hopefully) Fernandes.

spurs have missed king like i didnt think a side could miss just one player.

the entire newcastle defence is a shambles, solano is a capable right sided player, and has done well covering right back, but bramble, taylor and carr are poor excuses for defenders (with ramage, bernard, moore and babayaro in reserve). given is the only reason toon havnt shipped more goals.

Their defence is shocking but their attack is pretty good, with Parker, Solano, Emre, Dyer, Milner, Duff, Butt, Martins and Owen to choose from in attack so they've got a pretty good midfield/attack. Lets hope they don't attach any kind of defence to that.

wit hthe money toon waste, i could turn their defence round in one swoop.

johnathan woodgate
curtis davies
wayne bridge

wouldnt mean mega money either.

If they signed for the barcodes, Woodgate would have a relapse, davie would break something and Bridge would turn gay, such is life on Tyneside:sad:

I really think that if we dont qulify for Europe this season it will be more difficult next season, im thinking:

Spurs will invest and their players will have a year more expeirence under their belts of playing with each other. I often think that Spurs biggest problem is that they sign to many players and takes them a while to learn each others game.

You have to assume that Aston Villa will improve their quality with the money they have available, and a shrewd manger like O Neill with a proven record of success in the Premier Leauge, SPL, Europe and Cup compititons.

Newcastle have alot of quality coming back at the start of next season and as previosly said if they can shore up the back line and keep players fit players of the quality of Given, Solano, Parker, Dyer, Duff, Owen, Martines definitely have the quality for a high leauge placeing. I only hope that Roeder isnt up to the task though i admire how he has held his dignity this season.

Im assuming that Bolton will be up there or there abouts by knoking ten different shades of manure out if whoever they play while you can often get a team that comes up that may be well placed getting through the season on excitement and addrenaline.

Genuinely i feel the grouping we find ourselves in the teams behind the top four is genuinely the most competive in terms of placeing in the leauge and will only become more competitve as of next season. europeam football and specifcally revenue this season could really see us well placed to compete with our main rivals next season.
