Well at the minute you get 1 ps4 game a month and they've all been a bit average so far.

So the XBONE one sounds decent.

Have to say that I didn't see that one coming... and I don't expect it will do anything to help them at all. MS has cash coming off its balance sheets, they could easily afford to just soak up a little extra cost and cut the price of the original SKU.

MS should have learnt that too much to-ing and fro-ing and wanting to be all things to all people is really what is costing them in this contest.

That was my main concern, I and most of my mates have 360's which means we can migrate our characters/stats to the X-one, one of the lads has bought a PS4 though and the graphics on BF4 are amazing, he wants us to go down the PS4 route, most of the others want to stick with x-box, I'm kind of indifferent but will prob wait a while as I suspect that 4k ready machines will be rolled out soon.

I think if MS had gone cheaper than the PS4, which hey no doubt considered, it might have been seen as effectively admitting that their console is less powerful and not selling the in the quantities they would have hoped for.

This time last year, they were adamant they wouldn't reverse any of their policies, drop Kinect, or drop the price. I know it's listening to customer feedback that's brought it all back, but it doesn't half show how badly hey misjudged pretty much everything at launch.

They must just hope that at this point in its life cycle it's still possible to make up the ground on Sony.

Same, but still nice of them straight after release... I think they will do one or two A list games a year hopefully...pays for the membership in its self really

Right now PS4 gives more value for your money in terms of hardware. But microsoft are removing kinect from the XB1, and it's rumoured to drop by around 100$ (499->399$). Once that happen it will come down to exclusives, gadgets, design and which company you prefer. And the PS4 games run mostly at 1080p, while some XB1 games are 900p.
