So, 6 months into having the new consoles, how's everyone finding theirs?
I'm really made up with my PS4, everything is so much faster and and better looking. Going back to use my ps3 now, the control pads feel like a kids toy and it jars how jaggy everything looks.
I wish there were a few more triple A games available, but this has given me opportunity to play games I maybe wouldn't have before. Games such as Octodad, Child of Light, Resogun and Contrast have all helped full in the gaps, and the first 3 of those are all fantastic games.
Infamous Second Son is a very good game, if not an amazing one. The graphics are gorgeous, and the game play is fun, but he story is a little anaemic as are the side missions.
My only other gripe's other than the lack of major exclusives is the rubber of the left analogue stick on both pads started wearing away after about a month, and there really isn't anything to do with the Playstation Camera yet.
The addition of the share factory for editing multiple clips together and adding captions and music is a welcome addition.
In other news, and he main reason for this bump, Microsoft have announced today that they'll be selling XBox One That doesn't come with Kinect soon, for $399 in America.
They've pretty much reversed everything they said they couldn't this time last year now. Crazy.
If the system has been built around Kinect from the ground up, you wonder how easily they'll be able to make the dashboard and other apps controller friendly. Also developers will probably be less likely to build in Kinect use age into games if its just another peripheral now.
Once I know a few more of the Xbox exclusives, I might consider purchasing a Kinect-less version especially if he price really drops in the UK. But it would have to have some really good exclusives (Titanfall doesn't really interest me) as all the 3rd party games seem to be performing better on the PS4 so far.
I can't wait to see what both companies have lined up for E3 in a couple of weeks.
