I remember Baxter making his debut at home to Blackburn on the opening day 2008/09. Made a decent little cameo and almost scored a late winner. I wonder how his career might have turned out if that had gone in.

Him and Collymore scored for fun when they played together for Southend. The RS got Stan and we got Brett. Kind of sums us up at that time !

Annoyingly we always linked with players such Collymore and Saunders - I would be lapping up the transfer rumours on my paper round. RS always crushed the dreams.

Saunders did turn out to be a bit of waste of money for the RS though. Only lasted just over one season.

I think they sold him to raise funds to strengthen their squad? Saunders nearly came to Everton right at the end of his career as well as I remember. Kendal tried to get him again...
