A good Dovey lad is Derek. In the days when international footballers lived in Corpy houses, Derek lived just along the road from our junior school. We must have driven him mad, constantly mobbing him when he came out of his house, asking him for autographs.
Derek was never impatient with us, would stop and talk with us and was just another neighbour, always happy to sign an autograph and say hello. Happy birthday Derek one of Dovecot’s finest.

Was chatting to me dad about him earlier having watched the interview. My dad obviously remembers Kenny Snr as well and he was a good player.
We both talked about whether this sort of situation with a player could happen now ?
Not sure a talent like that would be allowed down that path. Barkley had bad injuries and could have gone that way I suppose, but he’s already a millionaire.
