2. One of best in country historically a massive club.
3. Generally decent fans, like all clubs there is a mix

Why?

I wanted to support a club that I knew would be reasonably successful (e.g. not relegation-prone, top-half of the table) without coming off as a glory hunter and supporting United or City.

There is no good reason to inflict this on yourself.
