New striker wouldn't make any difference

lol

Would teams attack willy-nilly if they had an actual striker to worry about? Would those half chances be put away if we had a competent forward?

This. 100% this.

Currently when the ball goes up front opposition defenders are just pushing our forward, whoever it is, back the other way then taking it off him because they've got no fear of him turning them and running in behind. Then our players stop making forward runs because there's no point, our striker gets isolated, and the process is repeated for 90 minutes.

Gotta agree with all that, but Would love to think that a true centre forward would sort all our problems, but can't help the feeling tha I'm still not convinced.
Still, we can regroup for manure at the weekend I suppose. Gulp!

A promising young goalie, an accident prone, panic stricken porous back 4, a pedestrian and goal shy midfield, and no threat at all up front.

A clueless manager scratching his head after every debacle.

What can possibly go wrong?

Agree, even if we had Giroud, he wouldnt have helped tonight. The whole midfield is the issue and Giroud would have spent 90 minutes trying to chase balls to the corner flag or win header after header from hoofball.
