New Everton Stadium Discussion

Those are not contrary positions. The finances of the club and the finances of the people running the club are not one and the same. Large companies go under every year, and yet upper management at those companies often pockets millions while driving the ship aground.

Even Moshiri, whose funds are legitimately at risk, stands to potentially turn a profit from the new stadium despite what it will do to the club's debt load. If Kroenke sells his Arsenal stake today, he turns an enormous profit on his investment. Ask an Arsenal fan how that's been working out for them, in terms of squad reinvestment.
What confused gibberish that is.

Explain exactly how Moshiri is going to leverage a profit out of BMD while it simultaneously bankrupts the club?

We had all that in place at Kirkby, and then some, and it still failed. And like Kirkby, it isn't funded.

You have to ask why this is going at a glacier pace.

What makes you think its going at Glacier pace? Admittedly, it's not moving at the incredibly ambitious pace that was put to it originally, and it has faced some bigger challenges than they first expected, but what makes you think it's going slowly? Just some words of experience in other stadium builds will do. If you have any experience of the particular set of circumstances that surround the BMD that could also be helpful.

Oh dear.

Lifting the championship of England 9 times. Every great everton team loving the place.

An almost unique stadium/atmosphere.

Hosting some of the worlds greatest ever players in World Cup finals etc etc.

Do these youngsters learn any history before denigrating things/people.

No one is denying any of that. But like Moshiri said, we’re not a museum. If someone had a vision to redevelop Goodison to the level it was on a par with Anfield then great but frankly no one has presented one and I doubt whether it’s even possible or over the short to medium term.

The dock allows us to have the strategic position on the waterfront that will be absolutely crucial for attracting new fans, corporate sponsors, etc. We’ll be in every single shot of the Liverpool waterfront and will have our name along half the front rather than being the team with the stadium not quite as good as the one it’s right next to.

The whole club needs a broom through to and just like we were bold enough to leave Anfield and move to Goodison we now have to recognise that if we want any hope of competing again at the very top we need to get out of Liverpool’s shadow (literally) and modernise every aspect of the club to best in class. I like Goodison as much as anyone but if the team is not winning in it and it’s even a minor factor in us not getting to the top then it needs to be changed.

Him and his cronies are using us to facilitate a huge real estate development on the docks.

It involves us getting a world class dock side stadium and significant invesmen in our first team.

Imagine being against that.

Emirates Stadium:

Northumberland Development Project:

Spurs decided to go with that site in December 2008
PP applied for October 2009

BMD:

Everton plump for the site January 2017
PP applied for in December 2019

Three times as long the period to apply for PP for BMD.

Long as we build it inside of 4 years we will have been quicker than Arsenal's total time taken.
