New Everton Stadium Discussion

Don't want to sound pedantic, but I'm about Bill's age and I can tell you that there were no seats in the boys pen. The only reason I mention it is because I've been reading that quoted here for years.

Me and Bill had seats next to each other, the ones that were like armchairs....seriously though, the Boys pen was where you grew up, there were little gangs all over it, fortunately I had lots of big cousins in there and found it a great place to watch the match while the packed GS was heaving forward and backwards.....

Only went in the boys pen once the old 6d - 2-1/2p awful view kids climbing up the fencing poor angle of the ground view I went everywhere apart from Goodison road for some reason - alas no grandkids as yet !
It was like wandering onto the set of an old American movie production, depicting life at exercise break in State Penitentiary.

While I admit to knowing nothing of the third level education sector in Liverpool , the piece in the article below about the knowledge quarter could explain why Corestate has got involved in the whole docks scheme
They specialise in micro apartments and student accommodation amongst other things

It's keeping graduates in the city thats the issue, we're not even in the top 10 UK cities for retaining them. The most pressing and urgent matter for Liverpool isn't student accomodation nor dockside flats it's decent jobs. I saw at the Peel meeting they mentioned 300 or so jobs for a major legal client will be moving in. We need that x10 to really grow.

Something like the new San Mamés in Bilbao would be ideal.

Love that stadium..

Dave, this is exactly my thinking - “But at the same time we’re not a monument. We’re not a museum. We’re a living, breathing, working city that has to develop.
