Stake is slang for erected d*ck in the norwegian language, so there's no way I'm wearing a shirt with that logo lol

Already been done by our south coast “friends”.

Is this a Pis-stake? Definitely a Mi-stake. Horrendous logo too. Spend some of your sponsorship cash on a rebrand!

Have we already covered the Athletic article where Michael Owen got his bum spanked for promoting a crypto based online casino based in *checks notes* yep, Curaçao.

Not the same company to be clear. But the imaginary money casinos seem to be big business in Curaçao

An how much is record breaking?
Hoping they compare apples with apples....

Anyone know how much the women's team were getting?

If it's record breaking has to be that plus the 10m from cazoo, plus whatever we're getting for signage at Finch farm.

Not convinced given the nature of the company, our previous statements and/ or the purported future regulations that this is that great.

Won't stake my life on it though. Sorry, couldn't resist.

She responded to a question at the club’s AGM last month by saying that “in an ideal world” they would prefer a “different type of sponsor” than a gambling company.

Suppose we're not in an ideal world, as in an ideal world we wouldn't have this board of directors.

But it's not an ideal world quite clearly? The pandemic and a war in Eastern Europe has quite clearly altered our financials by a staggering amount where we can no longer sacrifice money for ideals

Sadly there are a lot of big mouths in the media who don't have the task of bringing in vital money to the club at a time Putin / the British Government have completely shafted us.

Odds on the prem bans betting sponsors over the summer then
It's a certainty isn't it. It'll be a ban after all existing deals end which is why we've got this deal now. Shouldn't have done it in my opinion but the club finances are dire so we are probably in no position to turn large amounts of cash down. It's unfortunate but there are a number of other teams in the same position but I'm sure the press will keep quoting our deal rather than everybody elses.

Going back on our word to just about cover Gomes and Yerri's wages ?
And even worse im guessing the difference between Stakes offer and the next best 'non-gambling' company offer will likely just about cover our JonJoes new and improved annual salary.
Jesus wept

Here is my take on this. Don't have one. My three reasons:

1. Everton are so inept at sealing a good sponsorship deal, its not worth the money or effort.
2. No problem....the club would be better off as shirt sales would be through the roof. Many more fans would by a replica top. Idiotic sponsor names surely negatively affect sales.
3. We would look boss.

That would be another 10+ million off the bottom line of the club, it may promote extra shirt sales but a lot are bought when on discount, it's not going to make up for it.

We desperately need the cash at the moment, otherwise that is less to go towards keeping losses to 100 million over 3 seasons. I would be all for the righteous sponsor but if the best you can get elsewhere is 5 million and you can get 11 from a betting company then unfortunately needs must.
