I have never gone back to my previous employer in my professional life and applied for my old job. But I have returned when asked.

There's a world of difference in going back cap in hand and being head-hunted.

Yeah I think with his ego he’d see TFG coming back for him as a victory and it wouldn’t necessarily put him off.

At Roma the problems stem ed from being backed heavily first summer - 100m+ net, but the following two seasons only getting 7m and less the third due to the eufa financial fair play stuff.

There is my question always why Jose manages to have 2 good seasons at almost any clubs and wins trophies, well Spurs excluded not even Jesus can win trophies there.

But then the third year there is a big decline, that was almost at all of his last stations since Madrid.

When he was at Chelsea first time round he was only there for 3 years but was loved by the fans and players alike.
The worst record he has ever had was a 49% win rate, its a no brainer for me.
Sure it's risky but all managers are risky i would have him over Potter( who's going to Wham now.)

The question is: He took over a team in a similar situation with Wolves 2 seasons ago, got 1,35p in the league ago. 8 goals after 14 games and more or less held them up with a good 2nd half of the season.

Comparatively speaking yes that's still a huge decline from his peak, and possibly still a failure overall depending on what the actual targets were.

We would never be in the market for an "at his peak Mourinho" unless we were regularly competing for trophies year after year.
At this present moment...possibly.

Winning Roma's first trophy in over 14 years would not be classed as failure.
