New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

So, in summary.
Those who have always said it won't be built... are saying it won't be built.
Those who are saying it will be built... are saying it will be built.

A complete lack of new information means nothing has changed that we know of.
From Anderson...the loan wont be fixed but will mirror interest rates over the 25 yr term

I think that's a bit disingenuous though. The fears of the design of any stadium fitting in down there are also apparent from the bits and pieces we've heard reported about UNESCO's concerns.

In any case, it is all the one scheme, so if UNESCO are just concerned about the rest of the development it is still a huge obstacle for EFC to face.

I agree on the last part as to really make it work we need the rest of the docks developed to really say we are now in a posh, lively part of town. Else we would be stuck out at the end of a wasteland.

The stadium I have no doubt will comply because the height could be lowered by recessing the structure in the ground, or capacity changed. There looks to be several schemes to show it's past history including keeping part of the dock filled with water close to the river, retaining the outer and inner dock walls, restoration of the clock tower and pump house. All this will allow people to access the site which is currently out of bounds at the moment. All it needs is Meis to design something that is sympatico to it's surroundings, which I'm sure he can do.

Let’s not forget we’re building it next to a sewerage plant, and not the Liver Building.........

Larger capacity is nice, but what’s equally importantly is the total matchday revenue. Having spaces pre and post match that do not exist at Goodison is key. Meis obviously has experience in these areas, but he’s just going to build what is asked of him. I would think if Elstone moves on, Mosh will hire someone that’s down this before successfully like most other sports franchises have done in the past.
