The spec for Kirkby was Basic and Mid Range,
There won't be any state of the art stadium being built for us, Think Wigan but a bit bigger.

By contrast Juventus' new stadium with a capacity of over 40,000 cost £90m. I don't buy that to add 10000 extra seats costs £150m on top.

I get what you are saying there but Lilles was a totally new build with as people have said a foldover pitch, sliding roof etc. whereas Juve built on their existing site and the infrastructure of the sides was used in the construction of the new stadium so that may have cut the costs down considerably, as an example look how much the new mestalla is costing with being a total new build.... so much that they ran out of money and halted it, when they restarted again they had to knock down a lot of what they had already built.

Very apt that mate.Some on here cant or wont have anything to do with the name Wigan...been there twice and must say enjoyed them both.
Cant say the same for visitors to Goodison unfortunately.

I love going to goodison but we need a bigger and more modern ground, we were the ground breakers with technology with goodison when it was built so if we have to move let's be ground breakers again with a new ground!

I see my campaign is picking up momentum...

In my own special reality we:

- rip down the cladding and repoint the brickwork

- rebuild the classy reception entrance that @alan ball posted a pic of

- throw up cantilevered supports to get rid of the support pillars

- tear down the Park End and build the stand we should have done in the first place

I'm not arsed about cost - do it over the course of ten seasons so we can stay at Goodison. We have a small amount of extra income these days so use that.

I am aware that this is pure fantasy before anyone has a pop. It's just the happy place I retreat to in my head to stave off a potential fume (Happy Gilmour style)
