New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Does anyone know if theres a reason why we have 6000 more stewards at our ground compared to other stadiums? They're literally absolutely everywhere, in every single shot during the game in every stand

Does anyone know anyone who works as a steward and can explain it.
It's coz it's the first season in a new ground, they'll reduce numbers when everyone is a bit more familiar with everything. I agree that it's massively overstaffed, lots of them stand around doing nothing, but it's also nice that so many people are getting a few hours work out of it every other week.

For the last 25 on the TV I actially thought SKY had overdubbed the audio with a German game as the noise was that loud and constant.
Nah, it was real and luckily nowhere near German (or Holmesdale) levels of cringe.

(There weren't any drums or fat gits with their tops off telling fans what they should sing by shouting through megaphones.)

Had the pleasure of being on the pitch before k.o. yesterday. The atmosphere’s great in my usual seat on row 57, but it’s even better down on the pitch.

Someone I know asked a steward about that yesterday. They were told the club employed them for the away end but the league insist on independent stewards for away fans so they have had to redeploy them.

I'm not to sure about that explanation tbh. Surely the club would have been aware of that, if it is the case, plus a lot of the stewards, at least outside the stadium, appear to be agency staff rather than club employees. I guess they could have signed a contract for the season perhaps.

Yeah, that wasn’t faintish at all. The whole ground was bellowing it.

It was as loud as I’ve heard it yesterday, so if it didn’t come across on telly, it’s a broadcasting issue, for sure.

Edit: Also, don’t know if this got broadcast or not, but saw this come out when Chelsea got a corner down by the South East.

^^^^ Best flag of the night, BTW.

Well done to those lads smuggling that past the hi-viz Gestapo.

They're all in the stadium watching the game and go missing on the concourses when it needs sorting out.

They make the place look like there's a constant 'incident' in motion.

Should be a lot less conspicuous on and around the terraces.

I haven't really seen anything in the concourses I've felt needed sorting out by stewards - maybe as there are so many of them. I think they're meant to be conspicuous, hence the day glo jackets. Wouldn't be much good if they were needed and no-one knew who they were.
